The SMS options let you configure all settings used to send SMS.
From the Tools/Options menu, click on the SMS tab:
In order to send SMS, you must first tell eMill which Short Message Service Center (SMSC) you want to use. A SMSC provides the routing of all SMS to the recipient mobile phones. Therefore, before sending SMS from eMill, you will have to subscribe and buy credits from a SMSC.
The table of the available SMSCs is divided into 2 columns, the SMSC name and
its type. Two types of SMSC are currently supported:
Email to SMS Gateway: eMill is already configured for the TM4B
Email to SMS Gateway. In order to use this provider, you must follow these
steps:
Create an account: Go to http://www.tm4b.com and create an account by clicking on
'Register Online'.
Grant permission to the Sender Address: The 'From' address
that you will use for sending SMS (Project > Properties > Header) must be granted within your TM4B account.
For granting permission, sign in online in your TM4B Account and go to Settings > SMS API.
Under SMTP Access, enter the email address and a password.
Configure it within eMill: In the Available SMSCs table,
select TM4B, click on Activate and on Properties. Enter the login of your TM4B
account and the password which is associated with the sender email
address (see step 2). Note that the
Sender Address can be modified if you have a TM4B Short Code (used
to receive SMS).
Please contact us, if you want to use another Email to SMS Gateway.
SMPP: Two SMPP servers are listed in the Available SMSCs table. "World-Text"
and "Other SMPP Server" that lets you configure by yourself any other SMPP
Server. In order to use World-Text, you must follow these
steps:
Create an account: Go to http://www.world-text.com and create an account by clicking on
My Account > Register.
Configure it within eMill: In the Available SMSCs table,
select World-Text, click on Activate and on Properties. Enter the login and the
password of your World-Text account. All other parameters are already
filled in. If you have any problems, you can find all the details for
configuring your access to World-Text by
signing in online in your World-Text Account and clicking on 'SMPP Integration Documentation'. Note that the
Sender Address can be modified if you have a World-Text Short Code (used
to receive SMS).
Note that choosing between the 2 types of SMSCs will mainly depends on the price and the way you want to use the SMS channel
(volume, send & receive SMS,...).
