The Black list is a data source view of receivers you want excluded from the
mailing. The data source can be any database you are able to acquire using
eMill's data source wizard. The addresses of the Black List are
matched against those of the receivers list, which usually comes from another
data source connection.
From the Project/Properties menu, select the Black Lists tab:
Check the box located on the left of a list to enable it, uncheck the box
to disable it.
Field Binding: Bind the Email value with the data source field containing
the email address and/or bind the Fax value with the data source field
containing the Fax number. When a receiver email address or fax number is
included in an enabled black list, his email address or fax number will be excluded when rendering messages.
ADO connection string: advanced parameter used to set the link
between a database and a receivers list. Click on Properties to create
the ADO connection string through the Data Link Properties
box. By default, this parameter is automatically completed by the Database
Connection Wizard.
SQL query that returns
excluded receivers: After successfully linking to the
data source, eMill displays all possible queries to access data records inside
the tables.
Export the black list when publishing:When publishing
to a remote eMill server, the data source may not be accessible or available, or
the local database may be too large or complex to upload to a remote server.
Enabling this option, the data source will be exported to a temporary database
containing only necessary records.
