Setting the editor options

eMill provides an HTML editor and a Text/Scripts editor. According to the content type, the correct editor is selected and the editable file is displayed inside the content view.

HTML editor:

Having an html file displayed in the content view, select the Tools/Html Editor Options menu:

Select All Tags if you are editing a file coming from an external editor. eMill's editor generates most HTML 3.2 tags but does not create meta tags or DHTML. You can edit and display those tags in the source mode.
Check Show Borders... to visualize invisible borders in the editing mode.
Check Open in HTML source mode by default to open HTML documents in source mode.
Check Encode 8-bit chars as HTML entities to encode all 8-bit chars to HTML entities when a corresponding entity exists (ex.: the © character is encoded to the &copy HTML entity).

Text editor:

Having a text or script file displayed in the content view, select the Tools/Script Editor Options menu:

The script editor settings let you display code in a comprehensive way. You can apply colors to various elements of the script, indent or capitalize automatically. Uncheck all options when using the editor for writing Text message content.
