Receivers Lists Properties

• From the Project/Properties menu, click on the Receivers tab:

• Check the box located on the left of a list to enable it, uncheck the box to disable it.
• Click on the Add button to add a new receivers list.
• Select a list and click on the Edit button to open the receivers lists properties.
• Select a list and click on the Duplicate button to create a new list from the selected one.
• Select a list and click on the Rename button to edit the list name.
• Select a list and click on the Remove button to delete the selected list. You can have a project without any list, if, for example, it aims at automating incoming messages processing. 
• Click on Move up and Move down to change the receivers list order. Enabled list will be successively processed in this order during the render.

Receivers lists properties:

• Enabled: it specifies if the list must be used when rendering messages.
• List name: it aims at identifying a receivers list. Each list must have a unique name.
• Filtering: it lets you filter your records by specifying filtering criteria on your records.

    - Select "Match all of the following" if you want to display the records matching all the criteria.

    - Select "Match any of the following" if you want to display the records matching one of the criteria.

• Change Data Source: calls the Receivers List wizard to quickly change your data source

• Field Binding: eMill requires that you bind fields which are used to address your messages. These fields are then used to create the receivers email, fax or SMS address.
• Channels*: It lets you decide which communication channel you want to use in this project. If multiple channels are enabled, the message will use the first usable channel based on the position of the channel in the list.

  Examples when email and fax are activated:

  - If the Email field is existing and the Fax field is empty, the message will be sent to the email address.

  - If the Email field is empty and the Fax field is existing, the message will be sent to the Fax number.

  - If both Email and Fax fields are existing, the message will be sent to the email address if the email channel is the first in the channels list and to the fax number if the fax channel is the first.

• ADO Connection String: This string is used by ADO to connect to the data source. The string identifies the driver to be used as well as various other settings used by the ADO driver. Use the Data Link Properties to edit the connection string. You can also complelty reset this string by using the Receivers List Wizard.
• SQL Query that returns records: After successfully linking to the data source, eMill displays all possible queries to access data records inside the tables. Select the queries accessing the table that include the recipient's address fields (Email, FirstName, LastName) and match the fields from the Recipients address fields.
• Predefined queries: Use this list to quickly select a SQL Table or a SQL Query from your data source.
• Export receivers data source when publishing: When publishing to a remote eMill server, the data source may not be accessible or available, or the local database may be too large or complex to upload to a remote server. Enabling this option, the data source will be exported to a temporary database containing only receivers needed to perform the rendering.
• Use global script to access data source: check if you are linking to an non ADO compliant database. The DataSource properties and methods inside the global script will be used to manipulate the data. Check the Server Side Scripting Guide to learn more about scripting.

The Shared list tab is present instead of the Data source tab when the list is connected to an eMill shared list.

• Location: eMill server where the shared list is located. Usually only one eMill server is available. Note that the project need to be published on the same eMill server or the shared list will not be available.
• Name: Select a shared list to connect to. Only lists you are allowed to use are listed.
