To edit a record, use the Project/Record menu, the
record toolbox, or double click on the record line (provided you have made the setting
from the general options box).
The fields are either supplied by an external database you have linked to,
or by the project database if you have created one. Modifying the record
from the record editor will change the data in the source database.
You can also add or delete records from the Receivers View using the Project/Record/Add New or Delete option. Note that restrictions apply according to the data source option (see footnote).
Adding / Removing columns:
The receivers view columns reflect acquired database fields. To add or remove fields, use the Project/Data Source/Add New Column or Delete Column option. Note that restrictions apply according to the data source option and your database user permissions.
Data sources that do not let you edit records:
Changing records from the Receivers View will modify the entries of the database the project is linked to. However, eMill will not let you edit the records nor add/remove columns in the following cases:
Read only database: Your database application user permissions do not allow modifying data.
Fields acquired from distinct tables: The SQL query retrieves data from more than one table.
Specific formats: Windows Address Book, Outlook Contacts or Act!
